Information Processed by Open PVT

Open PVT may process and store information entered by the user or generated during a Psychomotor Vigilance Test session, including:

Device and Application Information

Open PVT records limited technical information with PVT sessions to support research quality control and reproducibility. This may include:

How Information Is Stored

PVT session and trial data are stored locally on the device using the application's local database.

Open PVT does not automatically upload PVT session data to a remote server operated by the application.

Data Export and Sharing

Open PVT allows users or research personnel to export PVT session data as CSV files.

Data leave the application only when a user intentionally uses an export or sharing function and selects a destination or third-party service.

Once exported to another application, email provider, cloud storage provider, messaging service, or other third-party service, the information is subject to that service's privacy practices.

How Information Is Used

Information generated by Open PVT is used to conduct and review psychomotor vigilance testing, including the analysis of reaction time, lapses, false starts, timeouts, and related performance measures.

Open PVT itself does not use participant data for advertising, marketing, behavioral profiling, or targeted advertising.

Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

Open PVT does not contain advertising and does not use advertising SDKs.

Open PVT does not intentionally transmit PVT research data to third-party analytics services.

Research Use

Open PVT may be used as part of research studies. The research organization or investigators using Open PVT may have additional procedures governing how exported study data are collected, stored, analyzed, retained, and protected.

Participants should refer to the applicable research consent materials or contact the relevant research team for information about how exported research data are handled after leaving Open PVT.

Data Retention

PVT sessions remain stored locally on the device until they are deleted through the application, the application data are cleared, or the application is removed from the device.

Exported files may continue to exist outside Open PVT according to the storage and retention practices of the person or organization receiving those files.

Data Deletion

Individual PVT sessions can be deleted from within Open PVT. Deleting a session removes the associated locally stored session and trial data from the Open PVT database.

Removing the application or clearing its application data may also remove locally stored Open PVT data from the device.

Open PVT cannot delete copies of data that were previously exported to external applications or services.

Data Security

Open PVT is designed to minimize unnecessary data transmission by storing research data locally unless a user explicitly exports it.

Users and research organizations are responsible for protecting exported files and for using appropriate secure methods when transferring research information.

Children's Privacy

Open PVT is not independently directed toward children for general consumer use. If it is used in an approved research study involving minors, use of the application and handling of research data should follow the consent, assent, institutional, and legal requirements applicable to that study.

Medical Disclaimer

Open PVT is intended as a research and psychomotor vigilance measurement tool. It is not intended to independently diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or provide medical advice regarding any disease or medical condition.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the application's data practices or functionality change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when revisions are made.
